The Dungeon Seeker – Chapter 1, part 2

THE DUNGEON SEEKER – VOLUME 5 CHAPTER 1 part 2

Chapter One  – Subjugation part 2 ▼▼▼▼▼▼

“Even if our whole gang would ambush that adventurer I have zero confidence in winning.” Longsword said.

While Longsword was waiting for Skinhead to reply, he looked at him and Longsword’s expression slowly started to change.

“Huh?…” He grunted.

“He’s not the strongest one, if you’re going to do an ambush, do it right.” Longsword could faintly hear an irritated boys voice in the background.

“What do you mean?” A girl asked

“Oh, that’s it … … sorry!” The girl now little ashamed answered.

Skinhead emanated a strange sound.
“Bleagh!!”

Just as his friend vomited blood Longsword started reacting.

He now took a better look at Skinhead and saw that a knife coated in poison had hit Skinheads left eye. The Poison was deep red and looked like blood. It was evident that the knife had not been lethal but the poison was.

His eyes went red when he saw that Skinhead was beyond saving.

For a poison to be that potent is truly frightful.

As if he had gone insane he grabbed his sword and rushed towards the woman.

When Ami saw that the man started rushing towards her with an incredible force, she got a little startled. But only for a second, as soon as she got her concentration back she threw another knife. Longsword didn’t notice the knife before it was just in front of him. With the assist of his incredible sword skills, he angled his sword and bright yellow sparks scattered around him.

It was as if thunder had struck.

Ami was so surprised that she got stunned. Longsword took advantage of this and used his movement skill. His body appeared in front of Ami. He made a big smile and just as he was about to cut her down the boy that he heard earlier appeared in front of him. The boy wore a slightly sad expression with an enormous killing intent hidden behind it.

Longswords body froze “why didn’t I notice him, does he have a teleport skill?….. no… I can’t die here…

I Can’t Die!!”

Thoughts ran through Longswords head but he couldn’t do anything. Suddenly air shattered and a bullet tore through space.

“BOOM!”

The bullet penetrated the cranium of Longsword and landed with a

“Thump”

in a tree behind.  His body got blown a couple of meters away and a large, beautiful red flower started forming under his head.

“Leave.” The boy said to Ami

Then he disappeared.

“AAAHHH.”

Knife met flesh and knife met flesh, blood started dripping around the camp. Agonizing screams and sound of bodies hitting the ground could be heard, soon enough the whole camp looked like a beautiful meadow with red roses.

Ami didn’t listen to the boy but instead watched the scene of him massacring. This would normally be a scarring scene. But since she knew these were bad guys and they had been doing this for a while it was nothing special.

After a while, Junpei appeared beside her. He looked at the meadow and made a deep sigh.

“Everything is critical to the head. Knife, bullet. It doesn’t matter, as long as it penetrates, the person is dead.” Junpei said with a distant voice but after a while, he started smiling.

“Your amazing, Darling!” Ami said with a loving voice.

“… Please, don’t call me that.” Junpei said.

Editor:1
Nononooo, don’t give me the Story Destroying Bunny flashbacks from Arifureta.

Junpei looked around the camp and his eyes stuck on the tents.

“Take care of the people inside the tents, you’ll need the XP.” Junpei said while turning his eyes back towards the meadow.

Ami walked inside one of the tents with a knife.

Through the tent canvas, you could faintly see a figure of a woman holding a knife and hear muffled screams of agony. Junpei listen to the muffled screams while light-heartedly searching through Longswords corps. He was the first one to be able to deflect Ami’s knife throwing.

Finally Junpei and Ami appeared, with some action!!!!!

I should probably be doing homework now, but we got over 2000 visitors on the first day!!!!!!!! This is huge, I didn’t think that the demand for TDS would be this large.

I’m thinking about setting up an patreon so I can get the finances to upgrade the site to the Personal Plan, please tell me if you guys would appreciate that.

Shameless Advertisements:

I’ve started writing my own novel so please check it out: A Cold Winter Afternoon

Actually, I think the “one chapter a week” thing will work. If not, I’ll tell you…

Well I’m going to sleep now so BB

Shoutout to our one reader to Kazakhstan!!!

  1. demand for TDS is big. But i’m kinda worried about mentioned heavy editing. We’re not losing any foreshadowing & good stuff right?
anyways, still happy to see TDS back on translation! thx!

    1. It’s more like your losing out on (no) character depth and unexplainable thing happening xD
Its pretty hard to read the machine translations but the important things will be there.

      1. but with that editing the story may make no sense later on since those unexplainable things might get explained

      2. Well It’s not really editing the story more like give the characters more “screen time” and some more people and landscape descriptions. Longsword and skinhead didn’t even have a name in the original they just raped som people and had like a weird 4 sentence dialogue about basically the same thing they talked about In The first chapter.

    1. Agreed. Arifureta was amazing until the failure rabbit joined up. Then it just became bla.

To the translator(s): Demand for TDS is *huge*. It fills a niche for a game element story in an honest to god dark setting which showcases what happens when evil people gain power.

  2. is it true that arifureta filed a case against this series? if so they have no grounds of comparison considering the shit harem tag with no challenges destroys any resemblance between the two series whatsoever.

    1. I Think that’s just a rumor and if it really happened, Arifureta wouldn’t win anyway. The only similarity is the first part about falling in to a dungeon. If you cold copyright claim that, Then every high school romance would get copyrighted as well

  3. well it s true that a lot of people hated arifureta (well i still liked it even tough i found shia quite annoying)(it s hard to think that now she is one of the character that make me laugh a lot -_-)
oh right arifureta after it s quite good if you care (and yes i know about the anime) XD

anyway a lot of thanks for the work keep it up (0-0)b

    1. I liked arifureta as well but sadly I can’t stand the bunny, the mc was cool and all but when he got out of the dungeon I kinda lost interest

      1. The moment they got out of the dungeon I was just like, yeah, whatever. It didn’t have the same tension even in the hard fights (don’t even talk about the last boss fight LUL).
The spin off in the UK was fun though, since it was just another op guy making a harem because he can (it did suck storywise but u can’t help it).

    2. Shia is annoying at first but you will get used to it but i feel kinda bad for tio cuz she gets no love. But i can’t believe they just went back home like nothing big happened lol

  4. really glad that somone picked it. But about patreon you guys need more fast translate. part 2 have 500 words. Average chapter translation words are 1500-2500. if weekly release 500 words its hard to patreon

  5. Many thanks for the translation, I no longer hoped that this project someone will continue
but I hope you understand – the breakdown of a large chapter into many small ones just annoys? why not publish a lot of text at once, but for a long time?
I read this text for a miserable minute – and this despite the fact that I am not a native speaker of English, no pleasure (

      1. I wait for new chapters of my favorite fanfics for months – personally for me it does not matter)
but I do not know how it will be for others (

  6. Thanks for the chapter XD

And breaking it down into parts is fine.

That said, maybe you should make the translator notes put in during the chapter smaller and use parenthesis to make it seem a little different.

  7. I liked arifureta, while it may had a few problems to some people, it was pretty nice to me. I absolutely hate dragged out fights, wimpy MCs, and romance or harem that never progresses into anything. Arifureta was the opposite of those, and it was a nice refreshment after all the trash that I saw in animes. It’s like being a virgin and having a girl show interest in you for the first time. Even if she is a poorly written piece of crap, you’d still enjoy the idea of someone like that existing.

  8. Fuck paichun. He’ll translate a series for a while and then go on a half year haitus without any notice. Please continue translating this. It’s one of my favorite LNs.

  9. Yeah I wanted Hajime and Yue to travel the world and be OP while finding a way home, so once that bunny was introduced I hated her and even to this day she’s my least favorite harem member.
Though the story didn’t take the turn I wanted it to I still liked it. I take it as each every time a harem member is added Hajime gets back a little bit of his humanity. I don’t think he will ever go back to the same but he can be something other than a trigger happy slaughterer. While I hate most JP protagonists for being spineless, having an MC who’s only thought is to stomp everything that gets in his way would have gotten boring (unless the story god really good) and I feel like him getting some of his humanity back slowly over time was a kind of character growth, or reverse growth I’m not sure how to explain it. Because while it might have added a uniqueness to the JP genre, violence can’t actually solve all problems since if he’d gone down that road a certain useless hero would be long dead which might not have been so good on the only 2 people who were ever nice to him, furthering making him lose his humanity. Also Arifureta After is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Thank you for the translation, I’m just glad to see this novel alive once more even if some parts were left out or put in. And I’m glad it isn’t Google translate level ❤
